GAH - well - this is it - fourth folder, fourth picture, no cheating, no cropping!! OK, here's the background - this was taken on December 1, 2004 at yep, you guessed it - the White House! And, yep, that is really George W. and Laura Bush. I almost didn't post this picture, but it seemed appropriate for the occasion since he's leaving and all. I took this picture of the picture months ago thinking I might do a blog post around election time and it never seemed to come out right so I just left the pictures on my computer.
My husband worked for our local county's GOP headquarter's office during President Bush's re-election and at the holidays we got invited for a "grass roots" reception at the White House - it was quite an honor to say the least!! We got introduced to both the President and First Lady and actually got to speak with them for a few (very few) minutes before our picture was taken. (I remember thinking after the picture was taken, please, oh please, do NOT let my eyes be shut and let the picture show him holding my hand!! When we got the picture in the mail, I was so relieved - my eyes weren't shut and you can see him holding my hand!!) We then were able to mingle and eat for a couple of hours with the other guests. The "first couple" did not mingle as they were taking pictures with all the other attendees, but it was absolutely an incredible experience!!
Now, I have to pick four other people to get this photo tag - I'm not sure there are that many left out there???
